Glenmorangie Receives Kosher Status

Moet Hennessy secures kosher status for Glenmorangie

glenmorangiekosher.jpgMoet Hennessy USA is looking to reach North America’s Jewish community after registering its Glenmorangie Original and Astar single malt Scotch whiskies as kosher.

The group’s Ardbeg whisky, from Islay, has also been approved by the Orthodox Union (OU), one of the world’s largest kosher certification agencies.

New packaging and promotional materials bearing the “OU” symbol will be distributed nationwide over the next few months, Moet Hennessy USA said recently.

“The OU kosher certification will bring our brand to an entirely new consumer base that can now enjoy our products,” said Brian Cox, Glenmorangie’s US brand director.

There are more than 5.5m Jews in the US and Canada.

The OU services the Jewish community in North America, although its kosher symbol can be found on products in 80 countries around the world.
