The FACUNDO Rum Collection is a Master Series of the most exquisite and extraordinary aged rums from the private Bacardi Family reserves, the largest and most extensive of its kind in the world. Â These rums embody the art of rum-making and more than 150 years of Bacardi family artistry and rum mastery. They are hand crafted, aged in an authentic style (in the tropics for up to 23 years), true to Bacardi and the founder and will be in limited release each year. Throughout the years, each Master Blender has added his or her own fingerprint to the wealth of knowledge passed down from generation to generation; it is under this expert influence that the FACUNDO Rum Collection was created, and will now be shared with the world.
The FACUNDO Rum Collection comprises the rarest and most exquisite, extraordinary rums from the Bacardi Family private reserves. In celebrating the 150th Anniversary of Bacardi recently, the family decided the time was right to share them with the world. In creating the FACUNDO Rum Collection, Global Master Blender, Manny Oliver, began with a blend of 200-300 rums to select those to include in this series.
The bottles in the FACUNDO Rum Collection are a work of art unto themselves. The glass that was used to create them is the highest quality available, known as superflint glass, which is a necessary medium to house the artwork on the exterior of the bottles. All of the motifs embossed into the glass are Art Deco –they signify Cuba as the family remembers it. All aspects of each bottle are meant to reflect back on the Bacardi family’s heritage, the golden era in Havana and the tradition of rum-making. The bottles were designed this way to celebrate Bacardi’s golden era in Cuba through the Collection.
Each of the four bottles is unique and represents different aspects of Bacardi’s heritage and history. On the NEO bottle, the sensual figures take their cues from the famed Art Deco-style El Edificio Bacardi in Havana – where the nude motifs emerge from bold geometric shapes. The sunrays on the Eximo bottle harken back to Bacardi’s golden age in Cuba, reminiscent of the warmth of the Caribbean and the warmth of family. And the design of the Exquisito bottle embodies the culture, music, architecture and elegance of Havana’s heyday, while the exquisite design of the Paraiso bottle unites images of the original Bacardi distillery in Santiago de Cuba, El Coco, and the Edificio Bacardi in Havana.
The four-bottle collection was designed to be sipped in a progression of occasions, each to suit various moments of celebration and reflection.
