Food Truck Frenzy

Innovative Owner Brings Food Truck Fad to Forefront of Bar Scene

Capitalizing on the on the nationwide rage of roadside culinary cuisine served from renovated ice cream trucks, Skinny’s Lounge in Los Angeles is proud to announce “Skinny’s Food Truck Happy Hour” on Monday October 25th, 2010 at the gateway of the North Hollywood Arts District. Skinny’s Lounge is a nightclub and live music venue that is reinventing the tried and true happy hour format with a modern culinary twist.

The idea is based on the “bring your own bottle” concept that is popular in European and North American bistros and eateries, where patrons buy their meals and bring a special/celebratory bottle of wine to pair with it. Skinny’s is putting its own spin on this model. Instead of bringing wine to where the food is…Skinny’s says “bring the food to where the wine is!”

Skinny’s Food Truck Happy Hour Grand Opening event will feature five classic fusion gourmet food trucks: Munchie Machine, White Rabbit, Papas Tapas, Café Con Leche and Bool Barbecue…all parked right outside of Skinny’s front door, ready for business.  Happy Hour guests can buy gourmet food at the trucks, and then bring their choice of amazing cuisine inside to enjoy with cocktails, beer, wine and music in Skinny’s luxurious lounge. There will be $2 discounts on all drinks between 5-8pm every weeknight, and Skinny’s will partner with different rotating gourmet food trucks each night.

Simon Jones, Skinny’s owner recalls, “Being blown away by the current zeitgeist of Los Angeles food truck culture. I kept thinking to myself that blending this amazing food culture with great music and cocktails would be a fantastic way to treat yourself and your friends to the ultimate after-work happy hour experience. The North Hollywood Arts District has an incredible wealth of theaters, art galleries and music recording studios, but really nowhere to enjoy live music, dancing, drinks and a nightclub experience closeby.  Skinny’s provides that experience, but with a multi-cultural and cosmopolitan flair…happy hour taken to the next level!”

Featuring warm burnt orange hues and espresso colored banquet seating, strategically placed mirrors and warm lighting, Skinny’s was designed for style as well as comfort with reflections meant to show people off at their best. They have a young, terrific staff of professional bartenders and cocktail waitresses and a full bar featuring a broad selection of standard and premium alcohols along with signature cocktails. Skinny’s features low-slung lounge seating as well as a dance floor, band stage, DJ area and VIP room. Nightly live entertainment varies from rock, hip-hop, stand up comedy, pop, swing, country, R&B, blues, jazz and world-class DJs starting the dance floor party every Friday and Saturday night.

Skinny’s Lounge is located at 4923 Lankershim Blvd in North Hollywood, 91601 just beyond the yellow NoHo Arts District archway sign. Visit their website at  www.skinnyslounge.com.
