Combier and Lush Life Name Top Shakerface, Austin’s Bill Norris
Shakerfaces.com, a virtual Shake-off created in collaboration by Combier and Lush Life Productions announced the first Shaker Face winner. Bill Norris, currently the Bar Manager at FINO in Austin, Texas and soon to open Haddington’s in the Fall of 2010, took 70% of the final votes on June 20, 2010.
Bill Norris lasted six days as the champ, followed by Edison’s Joe Brooke for five days and Boston’s Franklin Café’s Joy Richard for three days.
For the past four weeks, Lush Life has been roaming the top shaking cities in the US to catch bartenders at their best—behind the bar, shaking a cocktail–you can learn a lot about a bartender by the way they shake a cocktail. And, whether they’re hard shakers or more musically inclined, our favorite bartenders all make a face when they shake.
For the past four weeks, contenders have been encouraging friends and fans to go on the site and vote for their shaker face. After reigning Shaker Face Joseph Brook of Edison, Los Angeles, was ruling the votes for over five days, Norris stole the show on the final day, June 20, 2010 with 70% of the votes! Bill takes his title and $500 to Tales of the Cocktail, July 21-25 in New Orleans, where filming will begin again to name the next Shaker Face King or Queen and a chance to win a trip to France in the Fall of 2010.
