For the second year in a row, Banks 5 Island rum has been named the Best Rum for use in the classic Daiquiri cocktail, receiving the Chairman’s Trophy at the second annual Ultimate Cocktail Challenge. In addition, the brand also received the Chairman’s Trophy and awarded Best Rum for use in the Mojito-thereby taking two of the three Classic Cocktail Category Awards at the UCC.
“The Daiquiri and the Mojito are two of the quintessential rum cocktail recipes,” says Arnaud de Trabuc, Banks 5 Island Rum’s Master Blender and former Chairman of the Board of Angostura Group S.A. “We are honored to be named the best rum for these two drinks as they are a true test of a rum’s quality and character.”
Banks 5 Island Rum launched in 2010, and won the Chairman’s Trophy Award in the Daiquiri category at the first Ultimate Cocktail Challenge in 2010.
