Adirondack Brewery, the award-winning micro-brewery based in Lake George, New York continues to honor the heritage of the great Adirondacks by featuring real life, local, outdoor enthusiasts on their new 12-pack case graphics. Coined as “Adirondack Challengers,” the new Fall and Winter Mix collection features fearless and passionate sports enthusiasts, dedicated to challenging the forces of nature in the Adirondacks, for their own personal best.

“The Brewery has always wrapped its image with tales and stories about Adirondack history,” states Linda Wohlers, Creative Director. “Now, we are fast-forwarding into the present to celebrate actual people who have a passion for getting out into the mountains and on the rivers to challenge mother-nature. Not for glory, but because it’s there and they are going to do it.”

The Fall Challenge Mix collections features Adirondack Brewery favorites including their award-winning Dirty Blonde Ale, Bear Naked Ale, Beaver Tail Brown Ale and a mystery ale. The Adirondack Challengers featured on the case include Robert Livingston, a rock-climbing guide from Lake George, NY, Jaime Murphy, a whitewater rafting guide from Queensbury, NY and Scott Arno, a rock-climbing enthusiast from Potsdam, NY.

“Tourists visiting the region will now have the opportunity to drink the finest ale brewed and bottled right in Lake George Village while learning about the real life outdoor enthusiasts, who, through their passions have made the Adirondacks their home, and their playground,” states John Carr, Owner and Founder at Adirondack Brewery.

Robert Livingston grew up in Scotia and lives in Lake George. Robert is a licensed guide at Rocksport, a sports enthusiast retail shop located in Queensbury, NY. Rocksport is family-owned and operated and one of the oldest commercial climbing gyms in the U.S. “Doc,” as he is often called by friends, has climbed extensively all over the world. From Yosemite and the North Cascades, to the desert southwest and the Rockies and the great ranges of the world, including the Alps, Africa and the Himalayas.

Jaime Murphy, from Queensbury, is into all things adventure. She works as a whitewater rafting guide during the warmer months, and as a ski and snowboard instructor when the snow flies. She obtained an Associate’s Degree in Adventure Sports: Leadership & Management from SUNY Adirondack, and teaches High Ropes, Rock Climbing, and Whitewater physical education courses there. Her hobbies include stand-up paddling, whitewater kayaking, skiing, & snowboarding. Luckily her husband Jed, and daughter Kylie, are just as adventurous as she is. They reside in Queensbury with their pack of dogs, and are always planning their next adventure!

Scott Arno from Potsdam, NY grew up an hour and a half north of the high peaks region of the Adirondacks. His pursuit of adventure has stemmed and grown from mountain biking the Van Hoevenburg trails as a kid to summiting 46 of the highest Adirondack peaks in high school to now rock climbing and ice climbing throughout the United Sates. Despite some terrifying experiences both on the sharp end and witnessing accidents involving friends, he views every experience as an opportunity for learning, character growth and a chance to have fun doing what he loves.  Scott is currently working on his Graduate Degree.

The Winter Challenge Mix, slated to debut the end of December, will feature Adirondack Brewery favorites including their award-winning Dirty Blonde Ale, Bear Naked Ale, Blackwatch IPA and a mystery ale. For the Winter Challenger the Brewery chose to feature Ron Konowitz, an avid backcountry skier from Keene New York, who is President and founder of Adirondack Powder Skier Association Inc. Ron was the first person known to free ski All 46 Adirondack High Peak Mountains, and is also the wilderness rescue coordinator for the Keene and Keene Valley fire departments. A retired fifth-grade teacher at Keene Central School, Ron recently awarded by Governor Andrew Cuomo for his Tropical Storm Irene volunteer efforts as a Keene Valley firefighter and a volunteer coordinator for the town of Keene’s Hurricane Irene Recovery Team.
