A Beer For The Gay Community

According to The Telegraph, Minerva Brewery has released two beers that are directly targeted to the homosexual community. The small Mexican brewery claims this is the world’s first specifically targeted beer towards homosexuals.

The Minerva brewery said that the “Artisan Honey-Ales” would appeal to a section of the beer-drinking public that has so far been snubbed by larger brewers. The bar will initially be marketed to homosexual consumers in Mexico, Colombia, and Japan.

“We’re out in the market with great respect with the idea of offering a product directed to the gay-lesbian community that has been ignored for too long but it is important and very demanding,” said Dario Rodriguez Wyler, commercial manager for distributors Bodega 12.

The label on the beer has been designed so that it can be removed and worn as a symbol of gay-lesbian pride, said Wyler.

The Purple Hand Beer and Salamandra beers are available in some bars and restaurants in Guadalajara, Mexico City and the resorts of Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos.
