$175 Margarita

For National Tequila Day on July 24, AY CHIWOWA, a taco and tequila staple in Chicago, offers its new $175 margarita, the Rey de Copa, an inventive house-kegged margaritas, or any of their 90 different tequilas on the menu.

Rey de Copas (King of Cups) / $175 – Available starting July 24
Ingredients:
·         Casa Dragones Tequila
·         Chinaco Negro Extra Anejo (Toffee & Caramel notes)
·         Clase Azul Anejo(Vanilla notes)
·         Fortaleza Blanco(Herbal & Floral notes)
·         Orange Bitters
·         Gourmet ice cube: coconut water, La Pinta Pmegranate Tequila liqueur, fresh ruby red grapefruit juice and a stem-on cherry

The Rey de Copa’s (King of Cups) features a base of Casa Dragones Tequila liquor with organic raw sugar cane, Washington cherries and apricots. The ingredients were left muddled overnight. This liqueur was then combined with three exclusive tequilas, Chinaco Negro Extra Anejo, Clase Azul Anejo Fortaleza Blanco that were combined with a warmed mixing spoon and corked in a bottle for two days to allow the tequilas to blend. This was all combined and topped with orange bitters and served in a boullion snifter with an ice cube made of coconut water, La Pinta Pmegranate Tequila liqueur, fresh ruby red grapefruit juice and a stem-on cherry in the center all served in a bouillon snifter. As the ice cube melts the coconut juice mellows the cocktail.
