Moonshine Grilling with Midnight Moonshine Burger

Midnight Moon®, America’s number one selling moonshine, is pleased to announce a new partnership with Carl’s Jr.® and Hardee’s® with the creation of the Midnight Moonshine Burger. On March 23, this new menu item launched nationwide to more than 3,600 participating Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s locations.   
 
According to Nielsen and NABCA data, nearly half of all moonshine sold in the U.S. is Midnight Moon, so it was a natural fit for two of America’s most well-known burger chains to collaborate with Midnight Moon on this new burger, which is available with a charbroiled, 100 percent Black Angus beef patty along with the sweet burn of Midnight Moon Moonshine glaze, pepper-Jack cheese, crispy garlic-pepper onion straws and thick-cut, Applewood-smoked bacon, all served on the chains’ signature Fresh Baked Buns.“We are proud that Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s selected Midnight Moon Moonshine as the special ingredient in their delicious sweet and smoky glaze,” said Joe Michalek, founder and president of Piedmont Distillers. “Our commitment to crafting the best-tasting moonshine has made Midnight Moon America’s favorite moonshine, and now, it’s on one of America’s favorite burgers.”
 
“We’ve done bourbon- and beer-flavored burgers and sandwiches before but the rapidly rising popularity of legalized moonshine led us to start playing around with moonshine in our test kitchens,” said Brad Haley, chief marketing officer for Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s restaurants. “We loved the sweet burn we got when we put Midnight Moon Moonshine flavored glaze on a burger.”
 
The Midnight Moonshine Burger is being supported with a robust national advertising campaign including television, out of home, social media, radio, in-store POP, free standing insert coupon drops, collectible cups and more.  The dark and moody ad campaign titled “Making ‘Shine,” features the multi-talented Hayden Panettiere and an original song written and performed by country music star Jessie James Decker. Midnight Moon floor displays will feature jars with $1.00-off burger coupons at liquor stores across the nation throughout the summer to vertically integrate the campaign at retail.  The burger will also be a focal point for the brand’s social media platforms.
 
In addition to the burger promotion, Midnight Moon is introducing its newest flavor, Midnight Moon Cinnamon. Set to hit shelves in April, Midnight Moon Cinnamon is bottled at 90-proof and is pre-infused with three cinnamon sticks per jar and a touch of pure cane sugar, for a flavor profile that is spicy with a hint of sweet.   
 
Midnight Moon Cinnamon’s 750ml jar will retail for approximately $19.99 and is the eleventh flavor extension to join Midnight Moon’s portfolio, which includes America’s number one selling moonshine flavor, Midnight Moon Apple Pie.
