RumChata’s Freedom Bottle program generated $138,555 in donations to the Lone Survivor Foundation this past Memorial Day weekend. The not-for-profit organization restores, empowers, and renews hope for wounded service members and their families through health, wellness, and therapeutic support.

At the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Thursday before the race, Lone Survivor Foundation executive director Terence Jung was presented with a check for $108,985 by RumChata vice president Mike Neises and RumChata sponsored Indy car drivers Marco Andretti and James Hinchcliffe. The check represented the total proceeds donated by The RumChata Foundation from special edition red, white and blue logoed RumChata bottles.

RumChata’s Indianapolis 500 Race Challenge for its sponsored drivers resulted in an additional donation of $25,000 when Marco Andretti drove to a third place finish. RumChata fans also showed their support by tweeting during the race with the hashtag #RumChata500. RumChata donated an additional 500 cents ($5) to Lone Survivor Foundation for every tweet. Almost one thousand tweets were received resulting in an additional $4,570 donation.
