Recording artist Roger Clyne’s Añejo Mexican Moonshine Tequila placed gold in the 2014 San Francisco World Spirits Competition that took place March 20-23rd. Thirty-nine spirits experts sampled close to 1,500 spirits from 41 states and 63 countries to determine the top winners of this year’s prestigious competition.
The Añejo is the newest marque addition to the award-winning Mexican Moonshine Tequila line. It boasts a simple elegance that begins with a full nose yielding honey and woody notes and finishes with a harmonious blend of the sweet and dry tastes of agave, tobacco and hints of vanilla. Mexican Moonshine’s Añejo and Reposado both won gold medals at the 2013 Spirits of Mexico Tequila Festival in San Diego and the Reposado earned Tequila.net’s “Best of the Best” award in 2011. Mexican Moonshine Tequila is distilled in the city of Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico in a notable boutique distiller that uses a clean, sustainable and progressive process to remove impurities from the waste water. The ultra-premium quality of the finish is reflective of how the tequila is developed.
The name Mexican Moonshine Tequila comes from the Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers song called “Mexican Moonshine” off the acclaimed album, ¡Americano! RCPM will release their seventh studio album, The Independent, on April 29 celebrated with a record release show at Arizona’s Talking Stick Resort on May 2. The album release party will offer fans an opportunity to taste the ultra-premium Mexican Moonshine Tequila while listening to the live music that inspired its story. The album release show will be followed by a U.S. tour and Clyne’s own independently produced Circus Mexicus Festival, presented by Mexican Moonshine Tequila, in Rocky Point Mexico June 5-8.
