BrewLock Draught Keg System Wins Innovation Award

HEINEKEN USA, the nation’s leading upscale beer importer, is proud to announce that its BrewLock System, the company’s patented and revolutionary new draught technology, has won a Food and Beverage Innovation (FABI) Award from the National Restaurant Association. The FABI Awards recognize food and beverage products that will make a significant impact in the restaurant industry. HEINEKEN’s BrewLock will be showcased among the winners at the 2015 National Restaurant Association Show, which will be held May 16-19 at Chicago’s McCormick Place.

“When we developed BrewLock, we knew it was going to be a game-changer, and we couldn’t be happier with the positive response we’ve received from the industry,” said Patrick Libonate, Director of On-Premise, Commercial Marketing. “The BrewLock technology is designed to transform the quality, consistency and environmentally-sound delivery of draught beer unlike any other draught system on the market. Receiving this recognition from the National Restaurant Association further supports our belief that BrewLock will lead the way by offering consumers the ultimate on premise beer experience.”

BrewLock 101:
The BrewLock keg is a patented double wall 20L keg made out of 100% recyclable PET plastic. The beer is stored inside the bladder protected by the PET shell. Traditional draught systems rely on an often-expensive blend of CO2and N2 that can result in inconsistent or compromised quality. With BrewLock, a small, customized air compressor exerts pressure in the area between the shell and the bladder, pushing the beer through the draught lines untouched, guaranteeing a perfectly carbonated beer every time.

“Unlike traditional draught systems, no outside elements ever touch BrewLock beer,” added Libonate. “Air, light, CO2 and mixed gases are kept out of contact with the liquid, providing customers with a truly great draught beer experience every time and taking out the guesswork of tap management for bartenders.”

BrewLock kegs are easy to install, significantly lighter in weight than their steel 1/6th barrel counterparts and are horizontally stackable when not in use, resulting in a considerably smaller footprint in the cooler. They provide nearly 100% yield so every last drop of profit is squeezed out of the keg.
“BrewLock kegs are not only cost effective but they are 100% recyclable, reducing the accounts’ carbon footprint immediately,” added Libonate. “Our revolutionary new BrewLock technology eliminates nearly 50% of all draught system failures and provides a brewery fresh taste consumers desire – the way the brewmaster intended it to be.”

BrewLock is available in select markets in both Heineken Lager and Newcastle Brown Ale kegs. For information on BrewLock, visit www.brewlocksystem.com or contact your local HEINEKEN USA distributor.
