DISCUS Donates $50K to Wounded Warriors

Wounded Warriors Family Support received a $50,000 donation from the Sky Ranch Foundation and Distilled Spirits Council during a special check presentation at the October 13, 2015 “Spirit of Mount Vernon” gala at Mount Vernon, VA.

“This is the fourth year in a row that we have received a generous donation from the Sky Ranch Foundation and the Distilled Spirits Council,” said Wounded Warriors Family Support Founder, John Folsom, Colonel, USMCR (Ret.). “Their wonderful contribution makes it possible for Wounded Warriors Family Support to help our combat wounded and their families.”

The mission of the Wounded Warriors Family Support organization is to provide support to the families of those who have been wounded, injured or killed during combat operations. Folsom noted families of those wounded suffer in many ways, some financially, some psychologically.

Ralph Aguera, President of the Sky Ranch Foundation, stated, “In keeping with our mission of supporting boys and girls who are in need of help, the Sky Ranch Foundation is pleased to support programs aimed at alleviating the strain and suffering of the families of these wounded warriors, especially their kids.”

Added Peter Cressy, President of the Distilled Spirits Council, “Through this donation we hope to help wounded soldiers and their families heal, reconnect and adjust to the difficult changes in their lives.”

Wounded Warriors Family Support, an independent nonprofit organization, provides services and resources to combat-wounded veterans and their families that supplement those provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs and other agencies.
