CONSTELLATION RAISES $1 MILLION FOR V FOUNDATION

Constellation Brands’ Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs, Jim Ryan, and Howard Young, President of General Wholesale Beer Company in Atlanta, Ga., present a check in the amount of $1,000,000 to members of the Board of Directors from The V Foundation for Cancer Research, including Chief Executive Officer of The V Foundation, Susan Braun, and Head Coach of the Duke Blue Devils men’s basketball team and close friend of the late Jim Valvano, Mike Krzyzewski. This donation represents Constellation Brands’ largest single contribution ever made to The V Foundation, one of the leading cancer research funding organizations in the nation, and reflects the most ambitious and most successful “Your Corona Gets us Closer to a Cure” initiative since the partnership was formed in 2010. In that time, Constellation Brands’ beer division has raised more than $3 million for research, and provided over $7 million in total support to help make a significant impact in the fight against cancer.

This year’s record donation was made possible by several initiatives spearheaded by Constellation Brands, including retail promotions, off-premise programming and direct contributions tied to Corona Extra and Corona Light sales, in addition to charitable golf tournaments and other employee events. “At Constellation Brands, we’re extremely proud of our relationship with The V Foundation and what we have accomplished with our distributor and retail partners in supporting cancer research,” said Ryan. “But, we know there is more work to do. We’re committed to doing our part to help find a cure for cancer and ensure a better future for generations to come.”

All proceeds from Constellation Brands, its distributor network, retailers, and other business partners will benefit The V Foundation, founded by collegiate basketball coach Jim Valvano and ESPN. The V Foundation remains a longtime partner of Constellation Brands and Corona Extra, the top-selling imported beer brand in the U.S.

Constellation Brands beer division is the exclusive brewer, marketer and supplier of a growing portfolio of high-end, iconic, imported beer brands for the U.S. market. The company’s portfolio includes Corona Extra (the #1 imported beer in the U.S.), Corona Light (the #1 imported light beer in the U.S.), Modelo Especial (the #2 imported beer in the U.S.), Negra Modelo, Pacifico and Victoria beer brands.
