Beach Haus Brewery Announces Grand Opening

After a series of soft launches earlier this year, Beach Haus Brewery has announced plans for its official grand opening celebration. The weekend-long event will be held from noon to 7 p.m., May 15 to 17, at Beach Haus’ new brewery building on 8th and Main streets in downtown Belmar. The first 100 visitors will receive a free reusable Beach Haus Growler tote bag each day. Other giveaways will be given out at random throughout the grand opening weekend.

“The grand opening is our formal hello and introduction to the brewing landscape of New Jersey,” said John Merklin, Beach Haus president and company cofounder. “It’s an opportunity for many folks who have not been to the brewery to come and visit us, try all of our new beers, and see what we are all about.”

Guests can experience how Beach Haus beer is made on a guided tour of the facility, while learning how the iconic former Freedman’s Bakery site was transformed into a modern day brewhouse. The tour concludes in the brewery’s taproom, where guests can purchase beer flights or pints while taking in the sights and sounds of Belmar.

The grand opening celebration will feature the first-time release of Beach Haus Toast. “Toast is a black IPA that our brewmaster has been working on since we built the brewery. The result is a dark, almost stout-looking beer with a juicy, citrusy aroma, well-balanced bitter and fruity taste, and a sweet, malty finish,” said Merklin. Toast is the sixth new offering out of Beach Haus since brewing began onsite late last year.

Fans of Beach Haus’ popular flagship beer are also in for a treat. Previously contract-brewed in Upstate NY, “Belmar Brewed” Classic American Pilsner will be available for the first time in the taproom. “Classic American Pilsner is the beer that got us to where we are today,” said Merklin. “Its spirit has always been Jersey-bred, and now we’re proud to say it’s Jersey-brewed.”

Other new releases and old favorites will be on tap, including Parade Day Stout, Hopbahn Double IPA, Herb’s Rye, Station 2 Station Porter, Highside Blond Ale, Kickback Ale, and Cruiser IPA.

Starting on Friday, tours begin each day at noon with the last tour given at 6:30 p.m. For more information on Beach Haus Brewery or the event, please visit http://beachhausbeer.com or follow Beach Haus Beer on Facebook.
