such as Ian Neville, musician and New Orleans funk royalty; plus insiders’ tips on how to
survive your first Mardi Gras or find the best dive bars and neighborhood restaurants.

Along the way, the reader is taken on a journey that highlights the rich history and
complexity of the city and the drinks it inspired, as well as the techniques and practices
that James Beard Foundation Award–winning bar Cure has perfected over the last
decade-plus. Of course, this includes the classics every self-respecting drinker should
know—the Sazerac, Julep, Vieux Carré, Ramos Gin Fizz, Cocktail à la Louisiane, and
French 75—as well as a modern creations that highlight Cure’s ongoing mission to honor
the past while looking forward to the future.

Famous local chefs have contributed easy recipes for snacks with local flavor, perfect
for pairing with these libations. Highlights include Alfredo Nogueira’s Deviled Egg “Cacio
e Pepe,” Nina Compton’s Pickled Shrimp with Celery and Buttermilk, Mason Hereford’s Lil’
