Hinder Fan Wins Guitar After Losing Entire Collection in Fire
TouchTunes, the largest interactive out-of-home entertainment network, has announced the winner of the TouchTunes sweepstakes to win a Gibson guitar autographed by Hinder. Andy Malnar of Tickfaw, Louisiana is the lucky winner of a Gibson Les Paul Studio guitar signed by each member of the band.
The Hinder fan and amateur musician entered to win on a TouchTunes jukebox located at The Castaway bar in nearby Hammond.
“You have no idea what this means to me,” said Mr. Malnar, who has played the guitar since age four. “Two years ago I lost everything I owned in a home fire, including my guitars, drum kit, and recording equipment – thank you TouchTunes, thank you Hinder, thank you Gibson Les Paul!” “This is what it’s all about — connecting fans to the artists they love for a great music experience,” said Ron Greenberg, CMO, TouchTunes. “This time it’s really special because of Andy’s story, plus the fact that he’s a big Hinder fan. It’s great that it worked out this way, and we hope he rocks on for many many years with his new guitar.”
Mr. Malnar said he was overcome with emotion when he learned he had won the new guitar while at Capital Paint & Supply in Hammond, where he is the manager. “When I got the email from TouchTunes, I let out such a holler, my staff thought I had dumped paint in my eyes!” he said. “I still can’t believe this is true. I am a huge Hinder fan – ‘Take it to the Limit’ is song one/slot one in my CD changer.”
At The Castaway bar, where Mr. Malnar plays in a dart league, everyone is very excited for him. “We like to play loud, rowdy music on the TouchTunes jukebox there and everyone is looking forward to the next get together to celebrate my new guitar,” he said. TouchTunes received more than 25,000 entries for the sweepstakes, which ran from October 30 through November 13, 2008 on 20,000 TouchTunes jukeboxes. The promotion was strategically timed to the TouchTunes jukebox release of Take It To The Limit, the highly-anticipated new album by Hinder (Universal/Republic Records). Hinder fans were invited to enter on participating TouchTunes jukebox screens, and at www.touchtunes.com/hinder, for the chance to win a Gibson Les Paul Studio guitar autographed by the band.
